Chinese Zodiac Compatibility

Often during house audit, master may touch on zodiac compatibility based on owner’s zodiac. In this article, we will be sharing on the 2 main types of compatible zodiac.

The first compatible type is for direct support known as Thrice Compatible aka San He (三合). Second is mainly for indirect support known as Sixth Compatible aka Liu He (六合).

San He(三合)

On San He (三合), often advocate by Feng Shui master in enhancing the owner’s wealth or career. There are always 2 zodiac that are compatible in San He.

First, the master need to know the owner’s birth year to derive his/ her zodiac. After which, the 2 zodiac can be derived from the 4th order from either side of the owner’s zodiac.

For simplicity, below illustrate diagram 1 for easy reference. E.g if the owner is under the Rat Zodiac, he/ she will require Monkey/ Dragon (refer to yellow triangle) to create Thrice Compatible. This triangle (Thrice Compatible) applies to Monkey and Dragon Zodiac too.

Either zodiac is fine to enhance his/ her Feng Shui (there is no difference). It can be in the form of painting, symbol, art piece or even Feng Shui item.

Liu He(六合)

On Liu He, 1 zodiac is used for indirect support. Also known as benefactor support. In Feng Shui context, it refers to people under this zodiac will be your benefactor directly/ indirectly helping you.

For simplicity, below illustrate diagram 2 for easy reference. E.g if the owner is under the Dog Zodiac, he/ she will require Rabbit (refer to blue line) to create Sixth Compatible.

As such, placement of painting, symbol, art piece or even Feng Shui item in living room/ study room/ study table will benefit him/ her. Same goes for owner under Rabbit, he/ she will be using Dog Zodiac.

Incompatible Combination (相冲)

Lastly, as a bonus, we decided to add incompatible combination as one also needs to be aware of them.

For simplicity, below illustrate diagram 3 for easy reference. There is only 1 incompatible zodiac in this case and the owner should avoid having them.

E.g. If the owner is under Monkey Zodiac (refer to black line), he/ she should not display any Tiger painting, symbol, art piece or even Feng Shui item.

Hopefully, above simple concept will shed insights on why certain zodiac is required or avoided by master during house audit. In addition, this also allows one to be aware of zodiac that benefits/ clashes when doing DIY or lessen the worries when searching for art painting, art piece or Feng Shui item.
